Ok, so I finally did it. This morning I went out and test drove some cars; well in total I test drove three cars in total, which resulted in me purchasing a car. But more on that later. First is my first test driving experience. It was interesting to say the least; that I didn't actually have to ask, rather they offered if I would like to take the car for a test drive. It felt like that I was taken seriously in regards to wanting to purchase a car, which I think is a step in the right direction.
So I test drive the Suzuki Swift Sport, the Holden Cruze as well as the Mitsubishi Lancer VRX. Don't know why I test drove the VRX because I had no intentions on purchasing the car, but still it did give me somewhat of an insight into what I was getting. Firstly the Swift Sport; I actually drove the car home so that dad could see the car. It was a nice drive, a good compromise between handling and comfort. The performance of the engine is what you would expect from a 1.6 liter engine, and it was quiet responsive. In terms of the looks of the car it was alot better then the Honda Jazz; which was another car I was looking at.
The second car I test drove was the Holden Cruze. I looked at the CDX model, but they only had that car in auto, so I test drove the CD model. Engine wise it was the same, but just doesn't have the same creature comfort as the CDX. To tell you the truth I did like the Cruze quiet alot, you were getting alot of "bang for bucks" well alot of "gadgets for buck" (I'll explain why in a bit). I liked the interior of the Cruze alot. The feel of the steering wheel was very nice and firm, and it did feel quiet complete in the interior. But when it comes to performance, well lets just say I struggled to keep up with a bus from a standing start. Yes it was that disappointing! The ride though was smooth and very comfortable but because of the lack in performance, the Cruze was a thumbs down from here on out. The Cruze really are for people who want a Commodore but cannot afford one; but also is focused on fuel efficiency rather then performance.
So from there we moved to the Mitsubishi section of dealership. Note that I was only in one dealership this whole time, Heartland Holden, but different sections of the dealership. The only reason why we went to the Mitsubishi section was to see the car Ci purchased, the Lancer RX. But they didn't have any in stock, so we ended up test driving the vrx instead. In my opinion, I personally don't think that it justified spending an extra $10,000, compared to the RX Lancer, which we did end up seeing when we went to Parramatta. Whilst at Parramatta, we had a look at the Honda Civic and Jazz. Wasn't overly impressed with the interior of the car, so we didn't end up test driving the car.

Isn't it obvious? The Suzuki Swift Sport in white pearl. I wasn't a fan of the other colours available and I have always been a fan of white car. Best part of it all is that I pick up the car tomorrow. HOW EXCITEMENT!
